- The minutes for January 17, 2024 were sent to the Council for review before
tonight’s meeting. There were no changes requested. Kristin Bonny made a
motion to approve the minutes, and Tim Guidish seconded the motion. Motion
passed 5-0-0

- Review of the proposed budget
- The purchase of new printer should lower printing costs going forward
- New $6000.00 line item for Audrey Gerkin Scholarship Leadership sponsorship
- Lower Strategic Initiative line item
- Requested detailed payout reports to match up to the budget.
- Kristin Bonny made a motion to approve the statement, and Tim Guidish
seconded the motion. Motion passed 5-0-0

- Looking for representation from the Epilepsy Foundation as well as the School
Nurses Association - We are hoping to connect with more families in the northern and seacoast
regions.

- MCH Learning Journey in San Diego 3/4-3/7 – Leah had a great experience at
the National MCH Workforce Development Center’s 2024 Learning Journey. - Participated in an Emergency Preparedness Workshop to voice our community’s
needs - Attending the bipartisan Legislative Luncheon in Concord 3/21 to speak to
legislatures about NHCYCC - Attending the NH School Nurses Association Conference in Meredith on 3/23. It is a great opportunity to connect with families from the northern part of the state. Also hoping to find representation on the council from the school nurses association.
- Mark your calendars: Annual event on 7/11
- Setting up committees – one of which is the event planning committee.
- The event is scheduled for 7/11 from 5 pm – 7 pm at the planetarium in Concord.
- We are looking for business sponsors for the event.
- Champion Award – Champion Award nominations are open! Share online to spread the word.
- Community Outreach
- We are increasing our presence on social media
- Leah and Karen made a connection at Wentworth Douglas – a great resource for what’s happening in the clinical setting and specialty clinics.
- MCH Learning Journey in San Diego 3/4-3/7 – Leah had a great experience at

- Update on Learning Journey in CA
- The Bureau has filled open positions and is fully staffed
- A new Nurse Manager for Programs has been hired
- Healthcare coordination – negotiations are underway for Regions 6 and 7 for FY
25 & 26Region 10 Family Council flex dollars – funds can now be used with agency staff
as well as state staff. - Monadnock Region 5 – looking for ways to support family council work
- Outreach to families with questions about needs in vacant communities – in
addition to Nurse Consultants outreach. - Staffing update – New COO, Laurie Vachon
- Focus on pulling the 3 bureaus together and to improve communication
- Title V Needs assessment – focus on asking the right questions. What’s already
there and where are the gaps?

- Apr 11, 2024 bills crossover between House and Senate
- The Council is watching several bills important to our community including SB403
concerning Health Care Workforce - Betty Gay reminded everyone that a great way to provide feedback to lawmakers
is to provide in-person or online testimony before hearings.
