The Champion Children award luncheon kicked off the annual Children with Chronic Health Conditions Awareness week. Thirteen children were presented with the award. Danielle Schillereff, a 13 year old, was one of the statewide winners of CYCC’s essay contest. She wrote about the strong, brave and courageous characteristics of a young boy with diabetes.
The council members visited Massachusetts General Hospital to learn about their Pediatric Palliative Care Service. Allan Bergman, a nationally recognized leader who influences the development of policy relating to ‘best practice’ services and supports for people with disabilities and special health care needs. He provided educational information on the benefits of the NH Health Protection Plan (Medicaid Expansion) to policy makers and council members over the course of two days.
