CONCORD – Barbara Conner French, a veteran school nurse and long-time State lawmaker, will serve as the honorary chair of the annual Childhood Chorionic Health Conditions Awareness week.
French, of Henniker, served 12 years in the House of Representatives where she was an advocate for children and family. She starter her nursing career in 1950 at the New York City Hospital and served in various capacities at the State Hospital, State Welfare Department, Department of Education but is best known for her nearly three decades of service as school nurse in Concord schools.
The week is an annual celebration of “amazing young people who overcome serious, prolonged health issues,” said Jeff Woodburn, the Executive Director of the state Council for Youths with Chronic Conditions. It runs from November 12-18 with a full set of activities.
